October 2009 Business Meeting

Monday, October 12, 2009

The October 2009 business meeting was called to order by President Pam Unruh on Monday, October 12 at 6:05 PM. The meeting was held at the Senior Citizens Center as the library was closed for Columbus Day. 19 members and 1 visitor were present. This meeting was the day of the Log Cabin Quilt Challenge. 11 quilters brought challenge quilts and hung them up before the meeting started.

The owner of Sew Sue visited our meeting. She reintroduced herself and her store to the guild. She brought us a book with samples of fabric she has in stock. Sew Sue does quilting classes, alterations, sewing classes and has someone who comes in and services sewing machines. Sue passed out quilter's discount coupons. Sue said to laminate the coupon and if it is laminated they will not keep it and it can be used each time you come in. The guild will give her a copy of our book next year so she can try to have the materials we need in stock. She will try to order in anything we are looking for that she does not have in stock.

Secretary's report: Dorothy Sauder made a motion that the guild accept the Secretary's report as printed in the newsletter. Dot Holmes seconded the motion and the motion passed.

Treasurer's report:
Dot Holmes read the treasurer's report. Marie Dixon made a motion that we accept the treasurer's report as read. Karen Gentsch seconded the motion and the motion passed.
