Quilting 101 - April 27

Monday, April 20, 2009

Next week will be the guild's work night. We will be having a Quilting 101 session. We will have several different stations set up to cover different skills including machine piecing, rotary cutting, fabric selection, creating the quilt sandwich, machine quilting and binding.

This is an opportunity for newer quilters to get some questions answered and for more experienced quilters to brush up on the basics.

Hi Ladies! I attended the Quilting 101 class on 04/27/09. I've been sewing since age 13 - I still learned a lot! Thank you Ladies for sharing your information, talent, tips and time.

Hi! I came across your site from quiltinggallery.com. I have been quilting for about 3 years now. I'm self taught and would very much like to join a guild. I live right here in Calhoun. Just last week I had talked to a very nice lady in Marietta about joining their guild in Allatoona but they are very full at the moment and have limited amount of space in their building. I think it must have been fate knowing I would find this guild right here in Calhoun. I would like to come and sit in on one of your meetings. I do all kinds of sewing but my biggest love is quilting. Any info you can provide me about your guild and would be highly appreciated.

We'd love to have you come by. We meet at the Calhoun Library at 6PM every 2nd and 4th Monday. The 2nd Monday is our business meeting and we also do show and tell that day. Then the 4th Monday is our work night. That night one of the guild members teaches a workshop.
